Sunt utilizate in instalatii de incalzire(cele de 3 bar) sau instalatii sanitare de alimentare cu apa rece si calda (cele de 6 bar) pentru a controla presiunea din instalatie. Aceastea au dimensiunea racordului de 1/2 inch .
In momentul in care supapa atinge presiunea calibrata( 3 bar sau 6 bar depinde de model ) , aceasta se deschide eliberand aerul, pentru a asigura ca presiunea in sistem nu atinge o limita ce ar pune in primejdie instalatia.
